Chung Su-Lee is a student in Jeremy Brown’s EFL class. She is played by Pik-Sen Lim.
Su-Lee is a Chinese communist and atheist who works as a secretary at the Embassy of China in London. She always carries around a copy of Mao Zedong’s Little Red Book and has a habit of switching her l and r sounds. She recites lengthy quotes from Chairman Mao and criticises Western civilisation almost every time she speaks in class, though Mr. Brown often dismisses her comments as mere opinions. She is initially at odds with Taro due to the political differences between their countries, but she becomes his friend after they make a truce in “Season 2 Episode 7”.
Su-Lee is a practitioner of kung fu, as revealed when she gets ready to fight Taro. Curiously, she sometimes walks backwards when leaving or returning to her seat in the classroom, as seen after she hands over her mock exam to Miss Courtney and when she demonstrates what she plans to do at the school concert.
Su-Lee is the only character in the series whose surname is placed before her first name.
